In 2025, Apple will release the next version of its AirTag item tracker. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this update to the 2021 device is currently undergoing testing with manufacturing partners in Asia.

Although Gurman has not provided specifics about the new AirTag, he expects a more powerful chip to improve location tracking. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the device is expected to be released in 2025 and may be compatible with Apple’s upcoming Vision Pro technology.

Gurman has stated that he would like the AirTag to have a louder speaker, a longer battery life, as well as a model that would be more wallet-friendly. A number of third-party companies offer Find My network-compatible wallet trackers.

Since the beginning of item trackers, Apple has always implemented anti-stalking features and improved these safeguards over time. As a result of this focus on user safety, other manufacturers have adopted similar measures to prevent tracking devices from being misused.
