In India, HMD will launch a smartphone under its own brand called HMD Arrow. An insider said the device will have 5G connectivity and specs that are substantially better than the Pulse phones.
HMD India confirmed the Arrow name on social media X. According to initial assumptions, the phone would be a rebranded Pulse in pink, following a partnership with Rajasthan Royals.
According to the Mobile Indian, the new phone would have a “new design” and “upgraded specifications”. When the midranger launches in early June, it is expected to cost less than INR20,000.
HMD is eyeing the Indian market due to the falling prices of 5G-enabled phones, according to the source. Reliance Jio and Airtel networks have become faster over time, and 5G penetration is estimated at 15% with almost 160 million users.
