A few days ago, HMD launched a contest called #HMDNameOurSmartphone in anticipation of their upcoming Indian launch. HMD received numerous suggestions for the name of its upcoming smartphone from Indian users.

The upcoming smartphone HMD will introduce in India will be called HMD Arrow. As part of the company’s current marketing strategy, different names are used for different regions. Arrow was chosen for the upcoming phone despite Indian users suggesting names like Indhumanoid, Manbha, Naruto, Brahmos.

In Europe, HMD had introduced a phone called HMD Pulse. In India, the phone will have the same specs as the HMD Pulse but will be called HMD Arrow. This naming scheme will ultimately be decided by the phone users, which will determine whether it is confusing or a successful regional strategy. It should have the same specifications as the already launched HMD Pulse.
