The MediaTek Helio P23 and Helio P30 are having the same configuration and only difference is with a clock speed of GPU with Mali G71 MP2, 770 MHz for Helio P23 and 990MHz for Helio P30 chipset. The other major difference is Helio P23 can handle Dual camera sensors of 13MP or 24MP single camera whereas Helio P30 can have Dual camera sensors of 16MP or 25MP single camera. Both the chipset are having Octa Core Cortex A53 cores which are clocked at 2.3 GHz.Now the new chips also come with MediaTek Pilot 4.0 which helps the chip for power aware scheduling, thermal management, and UX monitoring. With this feature, you can expect great battery life as we all now earlier MediaTek chips are more of battery consumption.
The new Helio P23 chips also come with Dual SIM with both SIM can have 4G LTE with VoLTE/ViLTE support which is first in the world. Both the chips will offer 4G LTE world mode modem. So now MediaTek chipset will also work on CDMA networks like Sprint and Verizon in the US.The latest chips also have the unique combination of CAT-7/13 which provide download speed up to 300 Mbps and 150 Mbps for uploads.
The Helio P30 also comes with 500 MHz VPU or Vision Processing Unit which is the digital signal processor. The advantages of VPU are it free ups some resources to do other things, which helps you to get smoother experience and will not drain the battery much.It also reduces the power consumption and also boosts the performance of the chip. The VPU is available for OEM to tap into and use with their modified software and even it is compatible with third party algorithms.
