Galaxy Ring was teased in January, showcased at MWC in February, and will be announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event in July, at which the company will also unveil the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold.
Samsung has been rumored to have cut one of the Galaxy Ring sizes, resulting in eight sizes in total. We have just eight model numbers here: SM-Q500, SM-Q501, SM-Q502, SM-Q505, SM-Q506, SM-Q507, SM-Q508, and SM-Q509.
There are two numbers missing from that sequence, SM-Q503 and SM-Q504, if you are an eagle-eyed reader. There were originally ten sizes planned, then one was cut, and then another.
According to this leak, SM-Q500 will be the smallest model, while SM-Q509 will be the largest. There are two sizes that were cut before launch, both of which are smaller.
It’s all mere speculation at this point, remember. Clearly, rings are more difficult to make than smartwatches, where one or two sizes are sufficient. The Galaxy Ring will also come in three colors, so the number of possible permutations is enormous, so it’s understandable if Samsung chooses the smallest size possible.
We expect the Galaxy Ring to last nine days on one charge, and it may even have NFC capabilities so you can pay with it.
