HMD’s smartphones are now multi-brand, but its feature phones will carry the Nokia name. Three new Nokia handsets have just been unveiled – 6310 (2024), 5310 (2024), and 230 (2024).
Nokia 6310 (2024):
A few new features have been added for the 2024 version of this phone. A USB-C port and a bigger 1,450mAh battery make it similar to HMD’s 6310 from 2021.
There is a VGA camera with a flash at the back, a 2.8″ LCD screen at the front, a dual-SIM slot with standby capabilities for both cards and an extra microSD card slot.
Nokia 5310 (2024):
Although HMD kept the overall design of the 5310 (2020), this handset actually grew in size – it is taller and wider, making room for a larger 1,450 mAh battery. It is now powered by the Unisoc 6531F chipset, moving away from Mediatek. It also has a larger 2.8″ LCD because of its larger footprint.
There’s nothing like the XpressMusic classic of 2007 to remind us of the 5310’s name. The play button is on the right side of the phone, while the volume key is on the left side. There is also a USB-C port on the bottom, but everything else is the same – dual speakers, FM radio, 8/16 MB of memory (microSD card slot).
Nokia 230 (2024):
This Nokia 230 shares the same design as its siblings, but it has a new battery. It has the same footprint as the phone released in 2015, as well as the 65K colors 2.8″ TFT display. Both the front and back panels have the same 2 MP camera with an LED flash.
The battery capacity is 1,450 mAh and the port is USB-C. Other features such as a 3.5 mm audio jack and 8/16 MB remain unchanged.
Pricing for these phones has not been revealed by HMD. All three phones are limited to 2G, so they won’t work on 3G or newer networks.
