A patent application has been filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office by HMD Global for its upcoming HMD (Human Mobile Devices) branded smartphones. HMD has secured patents for four designs of its upcoming smartphones.
According to a recent ITHome report, HMD has filed over 642 patent applications for smartphones and chargers. A sustainable smartphone is expected to be launched by HMD. According to the patent design, HMD will release smartphones in gray, blue, green, and pink colors.
The rear panel will likely include a dual camera setup with an LED flash within a rectangular camera module. According to the patent design, the power button will function as a fingerprint scanner and will be placed on the right side of the device, along with the volume rockers.
A couple of pieces of equipment are also visible in the images, but their details are unknown at this time. Other specifications of the forthcoming devices are not revealed in the EUIPO database.
In July, HMD confirmed the launch of a repairable smartphone. In May, the Finnish brand will also unveil a Barbie clamshell foldable smartphone.
