The biggest change is the introduction of OLED displays for both 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models, which are expected to launch next month. This would be the first time Apple introduced OLED technology to its iPads.
There are several advantages to switching to OLED displays. In comparison with LCD and mini-LED screens, OLED displays are significantly thinner.
A recent CAD drawing leak and rumored tablet dimensions support this theory. As with their predecessors, the tablets have a rear camera island in the upper left corner, speakers below, and a USB-C port at the bottom.
It appears, however, that the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models will be slimmer than their predecessors. There is a noticeable difference in thickness between the 2022 and 2024 models. According to reports, the 13-inch model is 1.4mm thinner (5.0mm vs 6.4mm), while the 11-inch model is 0.8mm thinner (5.1mm vs 5.9mm).
Compared to LCD panels, OLED panels require fewer layers, resulting in a reduction in thickness.
Also, the iPad Pro (2024) will receive an upgrade under the hood, moving from the 5nm Apple M2 chipset to the more advanced 3nm M3.
Also, we may see a refreshed Magic Keyboard and a new Apple Pencil, as well as MagSafe charging support.
