A significant performance leap will be offered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor over its predecessor. The upcoming chip’s architecture and clock speeds have been revealed by renowned tech leaker Digital Chat Station.
The upcoming chip, codenamed SM7675, will feature a Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 2.9GHz. Qualcomm is pushing the boundaries of the mid-range segment with this increase in frequency from previously reported 2.8GHz.
In comparison to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the 7+ Gen 3 offers a clock speed close to high-end processors. Its architecture reportedly mirrors the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with a “1+4+3” core configuration. It is expected that the four A720 middle cores will run at 2.6GHz, while the three A520 efficient cores will likely run at 1.9GHz. Graphics performance will be enhanced thanks to the Adreno 732 GPU.
OnePlus Ace 3V leaks align with previous reports. According to previous rumors, this device will feature the SM7675 chip, suggesting the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will be the first to showcase its power.
According to the leak, the SM7675 might not be the only chip based on this architecture. Another chip, codenamed SM8635, may be a different frequency version of SM7675. Qualcomm will release these chips in March 2024 according to Ice Universe, a prominent tech leaker. The chips, codenamed Cliffs internally at Qualcomm, inherit the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 architecture, which gives manufacturers more options.
