On Feb. 22, iQOO announced the iQOO Neo 9 Pro in India. Before the launch, the brand confirmed it would also introduce the iQOO Z9 5G. Despite the landing page for the phone being available on Amazon since last week, it has not yet been revealed when it will launch. In an official statement released today, the brand confirmed the unveiling will take place on March 12.
On Amazon, the iQOO Z9 5G’s landing page mentions the Dimensity 7200. The same chip is used in the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, the IQOO Z7 Pro, the Vivo V27, the Vivo VS17e (China exclusive), and the Vivo T2 Pro 5G. Dimensity 7200 Pro is also in the Nothing Phone (2a) that’ll launch on March 5.
As the brand confirmed, the iQOO Z9 5G will feature the first 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 camera with OIS in its segment. Last month, Realme 12 Pro 5G debuted in India with the same camera sensor.
The IQOO Z9 5G is reported to have a 6.x-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected that the device will ship with FunTouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14. It will have an under-display fingerprint scanner for security.
With 44W fast charging, the iQOO Z9 5G is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery. It may have a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The device may be available in blue and green shades in India. According to reports, the device is expected to cost less than Rs.20,000/-.
