Last month, Samsung announced its first smart ring at the Galaxy S24 series unveiling. Despite being rumored before the announcement, the Galaxy Ring has attracted plenty of attention despite its upcoming launch. The launch timeline for Samsung’s wearable device has been confirmed by a Samsung executive.
According to Daniel Seung Lee, Samsung’s Global Head of B2B Wearables/IoT/Accessory, the new health and wellness wearable will launch in the second half of 2019. The executive is indeed referring to the Galaxy Ring here.
Samsung’s executive’s revelation is in line with a consumer tech analyst’s rumored timeline. Every year, Samsung conducts two Galaxy Unpacked events, the second taking place in August. Samsung’s plans for this year remain to be seen, as it was the first time it was held early at the end of July last year. Samsung usually showcases the new generation Galaxy Z Foldables, Tablets, and Watches at the event. The Galaxy Ring launching at the same event is therefore not surprising.
It has been spotted in the Good Lock app that the Samsung Galaxy Ring is available. The development of the smart ring is underway, according to this report. Besides being rumored to come in sizes up to 13, the wearable device is also said to be ridiculously lightweight. The product will also be available in three finishes.
