Sony’s Xperia 1 VI appeared in leaks last year but then went silent. As the rumored launch date approaches, leaks about the device have resurfaced.
In a recent leak shared by Insider Sony, there appears to be marketing materials for Sony’s Xperia 1 VI. It appears that the phone will have a triple rear camera setup, an upgrade from its predecessor.
All three cameras will use the same 48MP Exmor T for mobile image sensor found in the Xperia 1 V. With this technology, cameras will be able to capture more light and reduce noise. This feature appears to be used by all three sensors on the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VI.
The main lens will have a large f/1.4 aperture, a 2x optical zoom, and dual-PD AF for faster and more precise focusing. It also offers electronic image stabilization (EIS) for 1080p video recording. There will be an ultra-wide camera with a focal length of 14-18mm, perfect for capturing wide scenes, and on-chip autofocusing.
According to leaks, the telephoto lens offers a 6x zoom and has a 48MP sensor for detailed photos. As the native optical zoom will only reach 3x, the 6x zoom may be achieved by cropping the sensor.
A leak from September, reported by NotebookCheck, suggests an official unveiling at MWC Barcelona 2024 on February 28th.
