Qualcomm and Acer have announced two new routers – the Predator Connect X7 5G CPE and the Predator Connect T7 Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Router.
For demanding applications like online gaming, both routers use Hybrid QoS software, leveraging Intel Killer Prioritization Engine and Multi-Link operation.

In terms of theoretical throughput, the Predator Connect X7 5G CPE boasts a theoretical BE11000 throughput thanks to the combination of 5G and Wi-Fi 7. Its combined 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connections offer a maximum capacity of 11,000 Mbps.
Despite individual 5G speeds reaching up to 3.5 Gbps, BE11000 refers to the total data transfer potential of all available bands and technologies combined. Around 1 millisecond of latency is also reported for the router.
Furthermore, the X7 5G CPE has dual WAN connectivity with failover mechanisms that ensure uninterrupted operation even if the 5G connection drops. Additionally, it supports load balancing across its various connections.
While the Predator Connect T7 focuses exclusively on Wi-Fi 7, it offers tri-band connectivity. Due to the use of three different frequency bands – 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and the new, wider 6 GHz band – network congestion and interference should be reduced.
In addition, Acer claims that the T7 can match the combined throughput of the BE11000. For larger homes, it can be combined with other Predator routers to create a mesh network.
With Qualcomm quad-core processors and Qualcomm Immersive Home Platform, both routers promise consistent performance and better spectrum utilization.
Their performance is also improved by features like wider Wi-Fi channels, advanced signal modulation techniques, and multi-connection technology, all designed to reduce lag, minimize interference, and improve performance.
Acer’s Predator Connect app allows users to customize settings and prioritize specific network traffic on the routers. Trend Micro Home Network Security is also integrated for enhanced device security.
Acer has not yet revealed pricing or availability details.
