Major tech OEMs are gearing up for CES 2024 to unveil what they have in store for the future. There might also be a number of new launches from different brands. ASUS’ gaming division ROG has announced a launch event for its “lineup for 2024” a day ahead of the CES.
The ASUS ROG Phone 8 teaser suggests that the gaming smartphone will be unveiled at the January 8 event. This event could also unveil new gaming laptops and monitors from the brand. Earlier teasers have confirmed that the ROG Zephyris G14 will be revealed on January 8.
Geekbench lists a motherboard codenamed pineapple with two cores clocked at 2.27GHz, five cores clocked at 2.96GHz, and a prime core ticking at 3.19GHz. ROG Phone AI2401_A has 16GB RAM onboard, while ROG Phone AI2401_D has 24GB RAM. ASUS ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro could come in a variety of RAM and storage configurations. Android 14 will be the default operating system on the gaming phones.
In Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 with model number AI2401_A scores 2,213 and 7,048 points, respectively. In contrast, the device with model number AI2401_D scores 2,271 and 7,360 points.
