All telecom operators in India plan to raise their tariffs, especially for 5G services. In regards to 5G services, the Mukesh Ambani-led telecom giant doesn’t plan to raise tariffs.
The Times of India reported that Reliance Jio intends to maintain competitive pricing strategies despite the introduction of 5G services. Its foremost objective is to provide “affordable access” to an extensive user base, which includes over 240 million subscribers from Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL/MTNL.
According to Mathew Oommen, the President of Jio, the company’s strategy does not involve substantial tariff increases. Instead, they focus on acquiring customers, especially as internet usage becomes more prevalent with data plans.
Our industry has a responsibility to promote inclusivity. The industry carries the responsibility of offering digital empowerment to over 200 million mobile customers without satisfactory internet experiences with 2G connectivity. It is only through cost-effective accessibility that the telecom sector can become a “2G-mukt” one, Oommen explained, adding, “We aim to provide data access to all Indians without exclusion.”. Every individual in the nation deserves a better customer experience.”
By keeping prices affordable, Reliance Jio remains competitive in the telecom market, allowing more people to take advantage of their services. In addition, they are adapting to the changing world of data-driven connectivity.
