It took Samsung two days to squeeze the One UI 6 update into October. Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23+ are now receiving Android 14 and the October 1 security patch.
There are numerous new features and improvements in the update, which is about 3 GB in size. New default font, new icons, simplified icon labels, and a way to resize or move the lockscreen clock are part of the new design.
In the Quick Panel, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have their own buttons at the top, followed by the usual quick toggles and the brightness.
The new Studio video player is included in One UI 6. In order to enable it, you must first open the Gallery app. For now, it seems to be limited to FHD with its project-based video editor.
There is also a new weather widget, a new look for Samsung Health (which is coming with Android 13), a smarter Airplane mode (which will keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on), and a new Battery setting menu that has been positioned next to Display.
In the coming weeks and months, Samsung will roll out a long list of devices starting with the Galaxy S23 family.
