There will be an upgrade to Apple AirPods 3 in the near future. Apple plans to upgrade its AirPods lineup in the coming years, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Apple might phase out both AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 with the launch of AirPods 4 in 2024 since the AirPods 3 failed to perform well.
Instead, Apple will launch two variants of the AirPods 4. In addition, the analyst predicted the launch date of the AirPods SE, AirPods Max 2, and AirPods Pro 3.
In a recent report by Bloomberg, Mark Gurman details Apple’s AirPods roadmap. Apple will release two new AirPods models in 2024 that will sit below the current AirPods 2.
According to reports, AirPods 4 will have an open-fit design like AirPods 3, but with shorter stems. A more expensive model will include active noise cancellation.
According to Gurman, Apple will clearly distinguish between the two AirPods 4 models in terms of features and design. In addition to the standard features, the cheaper AirPods 4 will have an AirPods Pro-like shorter stem design with rounder ear tips and USB Type-C.
Apple’s AirPods 2 Pro with USB-C will continue to be the Apple earbuds due to their better isolation and interchangeable ear tips. According to Gurman, they will also launch around the same time in 2024 with a $100 AirPods SE. Gurman didn’t reveal much about the next-generation AirPods Pro 3 except they won’t come before 2025 and will be redesigned. It has also been reported that the AirPods Pro 3 will come with a hearing health and body temperature monitoring feature.
Moreover, the report reveals the most expensive AirPods from the brand – AirPods Max. With a price tag of Rs 59,900, Apple introduced its premium wireless over-ear AirPods back in 2020. There have been no upgrades to the AirPods Max since then. Gurman, however, believes Apple will launch AirPods Max 2 by the end of 2024.
