Sony will release its next flagship earlier in 2024, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, according to the latest rumor. In comparison, the Xperia 1 V was announced three months later (and launched even later at the end of July).
According to the information, Sony will unveil the new Xperia flagship “Xperia 1 VI” at MWC 2024, which will be held at the end of February. Therefore, if true, that means the Xperia 1 VI will be ready to compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra and Xiaomi’s 14 Pro.
Additionally, the rumor claims that the Xperia 1 VI will have a 6x zoom camera with a large sensor. This would approximate the zoom to around 140mm – above the current crop of 125 mm-slash-5x zooms. Sony’s Clear Image Zoom will also be available on the camera.
Finally, Sony will ship the Xperia 1 VI with recycled materials and no accessories, following its tradition.
