Today, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 9, bringing new features to the world’s best-selling watch and achieving a significant environmental milestone. In the all-new S9 SiP, the Apple Watch Series 9 is powered by custom Apple silicon. Among the new features on Apple’s most powerful watch chip are a double tap gesture and on-device Siri with the ability to access and log health data privately and securely. In addition, the Apple Watch Series 9 has a new 4-core Neural Engine that can process machine learning tasks twice as fast as the Apple Watch Series 8. With the S9 SiP, the Apple Watch Series 9 can maintain an all-day battery life of 18 hours.
S9 SiP and advanced display architecture boost the maximum brightness of the Apple Watch Series 9 display to 2000 nits, twice as bright as the Series 8. To avoid disturbing people around you in dark rooms or early mornings, the display can also be lowered to just one nit.
The Apple Watch now allows Siri requests to be processed on the device for the first time. Siri does not rely on Wi-Fi or cellular networks for requests that do not require information from the internet, such as setting a timer or starting a workout. In addition, the powerful Neural Engine makes dictation up to 25 percent more accurate than Apple Watch Series 8.
Double Tap Gesture:
The Digital Crown and Taptic Engine, along with gestures like tap, swipe, wrist raise, and cover to mute, make the Apple Watch simple and intuitive to use. Users can easily control the Apple Watch Series 9 using just one hand and without touching the display with the new double tap gesture. Apple Watch Series 9 allows users to quickly and conveniently perform many of the most common actions by tapping the index finger and thumb together twice.
With a double tap, you can stop a timer, pause music, or snooze an alarm in an app. Apple Watch’s Camera Remote can be used to take a photo, answer and end a phone call, and even answer and end a phone call.
