With the revamped brand now headed by Madhav Sheth, Honor is back in India. Despite teasing its comeback, the company hasn’t revealed when it’ll launch a new phone. There have been leaks about the Honor 90 coming to India soon. The Honor 90’s pricing and launch date have been suggested in a new tip.
According to The Mobile Indian, Honor 90 will cost around Rs 35,000 in India. Comparatively, the Honor 90 starts at Rs 28,705 and goes up to Rs 34,500 in China. It’s said to launch around mid-September. The Honor 90 should be announced soon if the leak is true.
It’s the first Honor phone in India in years. In spite of Huawei’s tiff with the US government, Honor didn’t formally leave the Indian smartphone market. Now that Honor is under a new company, it’s ready to return to India.
Honor Software Update Policy:
Honor has announced that its phones launching in India will come with three years of software support, a bloatware-free UI, and Google Apps access.
In a YouTube Q&A session, Madhav Sheth revealed several details about Honor’s return to India. There will be 3 years of software support for Honor phones in the country, according to the CEO. Two years of major updates and three years of security patches are included. With more Google apps, smartphones are said to have a clean user interface. Honor smartphones also run MagicOS 7.1 software, which is completely unrelated to HarmonyOS and runs Android 13.
Design:
The new Honor 90 series will come with an identical design and has not got any major changes. Both of them will remind us of the Honor 70 series as even it shipped with a huge circular camera module on the back.
The only change we noticed in terms of camera modules on the Honor 90 series which has got slightly oval-shaped. The Honor 90 series will sport a curved bezel-less punch-hole display.
Honor 90:
The new Honor 90 comes with 6.7 inches FHD+ OLED quad-curved display with 120Hz refresh rate support. It comes with HDR10 & 10-bit color support. The Honor 90 will ship with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage options.
The Honor 90 will ship with triple rear cameras with a 200MP main sensor having an aperture of f/1.9. It is coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide with f/2.0 and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. There is a 50MP selfie shooter on the front. The device comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.2 & in-display fingerprint scanner support. It runs on Android 12 with MagicOS 7.1 on top.
It packs a massive 5000 mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. The Honor 90 measures 7.8mm thick and weighs 183g. It will arrive in four colors Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Diamond Silver.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, A-GPS, GLONASS, and GPS. It also comes with Dual-band Wifi, USB Type-C Port, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.
