Users will be able to switch between multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same device thanks to a new feature being developed by WhatsApp. Due to the limitations of certain Android devices, users with multiple WhatsApp accounts have had to clone the app or log in to a separate device. The new multi-account feature makes switching between accounts easier without the need for workarounds.
WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo first reported the feature. The feature is currently only available for Android versions 2.23.17.7 and 2.23.17.8 in WhatsApp beta.
By tapping on the icon next to the QR code in the app’s settings, beta testers can find out if they have access to the multi-account feature. A card with the option to add another account will appear if they are eligible. The new account can then be created by entering the phone number and password.
Users can switch accounts by tapping the same icon (next to the QR code) and selecting the desired account. You can use the same device for all your accounts, which have their own chats, notifications, and settings.
Currently, WhatsApp’s multi-account feature is only available to beta testers on Android. You can’t use it yet if you’re not a beta tester. The Google Play Beta Program for WhatsApp is currently full and not accepting new members.
The company is testing new features to improve its platform, and it has rolled out several new features in recent months.
