Later this year, Nothing Phone (2) will be released. Phone (2) will be launched in the summer of 2023, according to the company. In anticipation of the official launch, the company has begun building hype around the product.
Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, has now revealed some more details about the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone.
The battery specifications of the Phone (2) were revealed by Pei during his Forbes interview. New details confirm that the Phone (2) will have a larger battery than its predecessor. The Phone (2) launch timeline was also revealed by Pei.
A worldwide launch of the Nothing Phone (2) is confirmed for July. There has been no announcement regarding the exact launch date of the device. Nothing’s CEO revealed some new details ahead of the launch. The upcoming Nothing flagship smartphone will come with a slightly larger battery than its predecessor. The successor to Phone (1) will have a 4700mAh battery. Comparatively, the first Nothing smartphone had a 4500mAh battery.
Until now, the charging details of the device have remained a secret. If Nothing launches the device with 33W fast charging support like its predecessor, it would not be surprising.
Further, the Nothing Phone (2) will arrive with 4K video-recording support at 60 fps. It will also feature RAW HDR support.
The Phone (2) will launch with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, according to Pei. “Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a proven processor,” Pei said when asked why not go with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Since its introduction a year ago, it has been thoroughly tested and continuously optimized. The user experience is more important to us than being first in the specs race. In addition, the latest technology comes at a cost that isn’t always justified by its benefits for users. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 ensures that Phone (2) remains accessible while providing a significantly improved experience over Phone (1).”
