Xiaomi launched the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones in the global market a few months ago. Both devices have now been released in India by the brand. It is the successor to the Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ smartphones in the budget range.
Design:
The Redmi A2 & Redmi A2+ look almost identical to the Redmi A1. There are two cameras on the back of the device with a textured plastic back design. On the front, there is a notch, along with thick bezels and a thick chin. Power and volume buttons can be found on the right, while Micro-USB and 3.5mm audio jacks can be found on the bottom. Speaker grilles can be found on the top.
The device will come in three color options – Sea Green, Aqua Blue, and Classic Black. The only additional thing is a fingerprint scanner on the back of the Redmi A2+.
Specs:
The new Redmi A2 & Redmi A2+ will sport 6.52 inches HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, & a 20:9 aspect ratio. Redmi A2 & A2+ is powered by MediaTek Helio G36 SoC coupled with 2GB/3GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. It also gets a microSD card slot.
It features an 8MP main rear camera with LED flash along with a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. The device comes with a 5MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. It packs a 5000 mAh battery with 10W charging support.
The connectivity options include Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wifi, USB Type-C port, FM Radio, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It runs on Android 13 Go Edition without any custom skin on top. The device measures 9.09 mm thick and weighs 192g.
Pricing:
With a starting price of Rs. 6,299 for 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, Rs. 6,799 for 2GB RAM and 64GB storage, and Rs. 7,999 for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, the Redmi A2 comes in multiple configurations.
The Redmi A2+ comes in one configuration, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, priced at Rs. 8,499. From May 23rd, these devices will be available on Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi home stores, and various offline stores. The Redmi A2 with 2GB RAM and 64GB storage will be released later.
Redmi A2 and A2+ buyers get instant discounts when using ICICI, HDFC, and Axis Bank credit cards or credit card EMI. Redmi A2 2GB + 32GB variant comes with a flat Rs. 300 discount, while the 4GB + 64GB variant gets a Rs. 500 discount.
Also, customers can get a free 1-year extended warranty for a limited time.
