Sony will launch the Xperia 1 V smartphone in Japan on May 11th. It will replace the Xperia 1 IV from last year. An upcoming offering was recently spotted on a billboard revealing its design and some key details. For the Chinese market, the smartphone’s pricing has been leaked.
According to the latest information, the Sony Xperia 1 V will cost RMB 8,000 (Rs.95,000/-) in China. According to this report, the upcoming Xperia 1 IV will cost less than the last generation’s Xperia 1 IV, which cost RMB 8,499 (Rs.1,00,600/-). Xperia generations differ in price by about 6 percent. Since Xperia phones are quite popular in China, Sony might be able to price the upcoming offering aggressively there.
Globally, however, the Sony Xperia 1 V doesn’t appear to be as aggressively priced. It may be priced similarly to its predecessor. As the device will reportedly come with upgrades, this remains an attractive option for customers.
It has already been confirmed that the Sony Xperia 1 V will have a next-generation sensor and a next-generation imaging system. Further, a text in Chinese was also on the billboard poster, implying that the phone would shoot high-quality images under any lighting condition. It will be available in White, Black, and Green colors, which are in line with the leaked renders.
The Sony Xperia 1 V will feature a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with 120Hz and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 16GB of RAM.
