Carl Pei’s startup made its debut last year with the Nothing Phone (1), one of the most hyped phones of all time. To a large extent, the handset proved that the hype wasn’t for nothing. In the meantime, the brand has begun teasing the launch of its next-generation model – the Nothing Phone (2) – and has even announced a launch date.
As of today, Nothing has been announced about the launch of the Phone (2) in the summer. Despite not revealing an exact date, the company confirmed that the phone will be available in the US as well. An animated video shared by the brand may also hint at some design elements. Like its predecessor, the smartphone will have lights on the back.
There are few details about the Phone 2 as of now, but a Qualcomm executive accidentally revealed that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip. In comparison to the Phone 1, this phone has a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC. There is also a rumor that the device will have an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and an FHD+ resolution. There is a good chance it will run on Android 13 based on Nothing OS.
Speculations suggest that the upcoming Phone (2) will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It is expected to be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery; however, details regarding its fast charging capabilities remain unknown. Wireless charging is expected to be supported on the Phone (2), just as it was on its predecessor.
