Vivo X Flip is expected to become the next clamshell foldable smartphone this quarter. A new schematic reveals that the external screen will be a rectangle, placed vertically under the camera island.
There is a sliver of aluminum in the case that will be the hinge, following the design language of the X90 series. With only two cameras, the external screen will measure 682 pixels wide, allowing enough space for the ZEISS logo.
As expected, the inner screen will be 1080 pixels wide – Samsung, Oppo, and Motorola all have Full HD+ panels on their flip foldable, with Huawei offering a slightly larger screen with higher PPI density.
A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is visible below the power key, which is visible level with the right-hand volume rocker. There is also a small surprise in the dual camera setup. Even though it sounds nice to have more cameras, it would result in a significant reduction in sensor size and ultimately result in deteriorated camera performance.
