For the past few months, Motorola has been teasing the ThinkPhone. The Lenovo-owned brand posted a picture of the smartphone with the caption “Business-grade upgrade.”
Motorola has officially shared an image showing off the ThinkPhone’s design. The bottom right corner of the phone’s back panel features a fiber design and the text “ThinkPhone by Motorola”. There is also an aluminum frame on the ThinkPhone, with a red button on the left side.
Since the ThinkPhone will be unveiled at CES 2023, which begins on January 5, Motorola hasn’t revealed any specs yet.
Design:
In a pre-release marketing render, the ThinkPhone is shown with three rear-facing cameras set within a curved back panel. A centered punch-hole front-facing camera and a fingerprint scanner are also built into the device’s flat display.
Specs:
It appears that the ThinkPhone has an AMOLED or OLED display rather than an IPS one. Display resolution is expected to be 1080p, with up to 12 GB of RAM, along with a 50 MP main camera, 13 MP ultra-wide angle, 2 MP depth, and 16 MP front-facing camera.
While Evan Blass claims the ThinkPhone will almost certainly be a member of the Edge series, there is a possibility that it could have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, rather than the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 as previously suggested.
It is expected that Lenovo will unveil the ThinkPhone in 2023. Due to Lenovo’s global presence, the device is likely to be available in a range of countries.
It looks like the Lenovo ThinkPhone will be a formidable smartphone with high-end hardware and impressive camera and display features. In the event it does launch under the ThinkPad branding, it will be interesting to see how consumers respond to it and whether it will be able to compete with other smartphones.
