Today, Motorola unveiled two new devices – one from the X-series and one that will probably be the cheapest 5G device from the company in the near future. For now, they are only available in China, but should eventually reach the rest of the world.

Moto X40:

The new Moto X40 will arrive with a curved display on the front with the center punch-hole notch. It comes with almost bezel-less sides and feels premium in terms of design. The device might likely have metallic chassis running on the sides with the power button and volume rockers on the right.

The back got that matte finish with a weird squarish camera module protruding out of the body. It features triple cameras with two aligned vertically and a third one placed beside it with LED flash. It measures 8.5mm thick and weighs 197g.

Specs:

The new Moto X40 will sport 6.67 inches FHD+ 10-bit OLED display with curved edges on either side. It comes with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400p with 10-bit colors & supports a 165Hz refresh rate. The device gets in-display fingerprint scanner support & comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top.

The device is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space.

The Moto X40 will feature a 50MP main 1/1.55″ sensor with OIS coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide with 117-degrees FoV. There is another 12MP portrait telephoto IMX663 sensor with 2x optical zoom & LED flash. There is a whopping 60MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch.

Moto G53 5G:

Motorola’s Moto G53 boasts 5G connectivity. In spite of this, it is disappointing in some respects as a follow-up to the 4G-only Moto G52. Despite Motorola’s confusing line-up, the 5G-equipped Moto G51 has some better specs.

The new Moto G53 looks no different when compared with any other previously launched devices. From the front, the new Moto G53 features a center punch-hole display with thicker bezels surrounding the display. On the back, there are dual rear cameras under the oval-shaped camera module with LED flash. It measures 8.19 mm thick & weighs 184g.

The power button with volume rockers is on the right side of the device. The USB Type-C Port with speaker mesh & secondary mic on the bottom of the device.

Specs:

The new Moto G53 will sport massive 6.5 inches HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Unlike the predecessor, the new Moto G53 is powered by an unknown Octa-core Qualcomm chipset. It is coupled with 4GB/8GB RAM and 128GB storage space with microSD card support.

The device features a 50MP main sensor coupled with a 2MP macro sensor with LED flash. It features an 8MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole display.  The device comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with IP52 certification making it water-resistant.

The connectivity options include Dual Band Wifi, 5G, 4G LTE, FM Radio, Dual SIM support, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C, and Bluetooth 5.0. The device packs a 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charge support. It runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.
