The US variants of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra popped up on Geekbench last month with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that’s set to launch during the Snapdragon Summit between November 15-17. A benchmark database showing Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship silicon has also been spotted with the US Plus model.
The US variant of the Galaxy S23+ runs Android 13 with One UI 5.0 on top, apparently. The model code for this variant is SM-S916U. There is 8GB of RAM onboard, but more RAM options will likely be available.
Geekbench’s single-core tests showed a lower score for the S23+ than the vanilla and Ultra models, but a higher multi-core score. As these units are likely pre-production, we’ll reserve our judgment until we see the retail units, which will most likely perform better.
In some markets, Samsung might go with an Exynos chip while in others it may use the Snapdragon chip.
