Xiaomi has now entered the 200MP era with its impressive 1″ sensor. While not as big as the last one, this one still has an impressive imager. The Xiaomi T-series is its own thing rather than a sequel or upgrade to the Xiaomi 12 series. It’s not really related to the 12S models either, so let’s look at them with fresh eyes.
Xiaomi 12T:
Xiaomi 12T comes with a smaller 6.67 inches center punch-hole display on the front. It gets quad-curved edges with slimmer bezels surrounding the display. On the back, we got triple rear cameras which look similar to Oppo Reno6 series-like module. Further, we can notice the mention of 108MP on the camera module.
It measures 8.6mm thick & weighs 182g. The Xiaomi 12T sports a smaller 6.67 inches FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also gets 12-bit colors, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1100-nits brightness. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
The Xiaomi 12T comes with Dimensity 8100 Ultra SoC. The Xiaomi 12T will come with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Xiaomi 12T features a 108MP f/1.9 aperture main sensor with OIS support. It comes with 8MP ultra-wide sensor with a 123-degree FOV along with a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture. The Xiaomi 12T will feature a 20MP selfie shooter.
The Xiaomi 12T packs a 5000 mAh battery with 120W fast-wired charging support. The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE & 5G support, NFC, IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and USB Type-C port with X-axis linear motor. It also gets stereo speakers powered by Harmon Kardon. It runs on MIUI 13 with Android 12 OS out of the box.
Xiaomi 12T Pro:
The new Xiaomi 12T Pro will look identical to Xiaomi 12 in terms of design and comes with a quad-curved display. It measures 8.6mm thick & weighs 205g. The device got a glass back with metal chassis giving it a premium feel.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro sports a larger 6.73 inches QHD+ AMOLED (2712×1220p) display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also gets 12-bit colors, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 1500-nit brightness. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro comes with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Xiaomi 12T Pro will come with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Xiaomi 12T series will go on sale from Oct 13 for global regions. No word about Indian launch at the moment. Xiaomi 12T Pro 8GB+128GB starts at EUR 749 (roughly Rs 60,500). The Xiaomi 12T 8GB+128GB model costs EUR 599 (roughly Rs 48,400). The devices will be available in silver, blue, and black colors.
