In India, Jio Book price has been revealed as the laptop is being sold through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). IMC 2022 is underway at Pragati Maidan in Delhi, where the laptop is already on display. 91mobiles Hindi has unearthed a government website offering affordable laptops for sale in the country. Jio Book is reasonably priced, as expected, and is perfect for those on a tight budget. The laptop appears to be available only to government officials at the moment, but we anticipate general availability in the near future.
GeM’s listing of Jio Book reveals the laptop’s price, specifications, and entire design. Since the laptop is ‘Made in India’, its price should be quite competitive.
Specs:
With a display resolution of 1366×768 pixels, the Jio Book laptop sports an 11.6-inch HD display. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor is paired with Adreno 610 GPU for graphics. Although the chipset used is quite outdated for today’s standards, we can’t complain much about the price. Jio Book 4G’s body is made of plastic and its lid is emblazoned with the ‘Jio’ logo. The Windows button on the keyboard also has Jio written on it.
There is only 2GB of RAM in the Jio Book, and the storage details are unclear at this point. There is also an HD camera for recording video on the laptop, which appears to run a custom version of the operating system dubbed Jio OS. The Jio Cloud PC comes with some pre-installed apps, a Microsoft Ad browser, and supports Jio Cloud.
Pricing:
GeM is selling the Jio Book laptop for Rs 19,500. We expect the stock to be filled soon, according to the website listing. At the time of writing, there were only 10 units in stock. At the moment, only government employees are eligible to purchase the laptop. It is rumored that JioBook will be available for all starting Diwali. General audiences may pay a different price.
