As OPPO continues to release new A-series handsets, the A16, which is OPPO’s best-selling handset by volume, will be replaced by the A17 in 2022. It will be the second device from this line to adopt that branding in recent years.

Design:

The new Oppo A17 looks similar to any other A-series smartphone from the front with a typical waterdrop notch and thicker bezels surrounding the screen. The sides aka chassis are again made out of plastic. The power button that also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner along with volume rockers on the right.

The mic hole is on the top with the SIM tray located towards the left of the device. The bottom of the device will feature a USB Type-C port with speaker mesh and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The Oppo A17 gets a major change in terms of rear design which now gives a premium feel as it probably comes with a faux leather finish.

The Oppo A17 comes with dual rear cameras aligned vertically having two big circular cut-outs. The main sensor is on the top whereas the second one is just below it with an LED flash.

Specs:

The new Oppo A17 will be powered by MediaTek Helio G35 SoC coupled with 2GB/3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space. It packs a 5000 mAh battery with likely to support standard 10W charging support.
Specs should be available by the end of the month once A17 officially debuts.
