In India, OnePlus has begun teasing the launch of its upcoming Nord smartwatch.
The Nord Watch looks like a standard watch with a squared-off display, curved body, prominent lugs, and a push button that resembles a crown. It comes with a simple silicone band in black, matching the gray color of the watch.
It remains to be seen whether this will be an actual smartwatch or a glorified fitness band. Even though the Nord Watch doesn’t have smart functionality, OnePlus still refers to the existing OnePlus Watch as a “smartwatch”. Nord devices, however, should be significantly cheaper.
Currently, no further information is available, with the status simply stating “Coming soon”. It is expected that more details will be released over the next few weeks, with the launch taking place either at the end of this month or early in October.
The reference qualified design of the Nord Watch has been revealed by tipster Mukul Sharma. A rectangular smartwatch with an interesting strap is revealed to have a generic rectangular design. Black, White, and Gold are the three color options indicated on the designs.
Based on the early renders of the OnePlus Nord Watch, this smartwatch could have a 368×448 pixel display. A SpO2 sensor, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking are all rumored to be included in the Nord Watch.
Earlier this week, Bluetooth SIG revealed that the device will be called OPBBE221 and feature Bluetooth 5.2. In addition to its SpO2 sensor, the watch will also monitor heart rate and sleep. A companion app, OnePlus N Health, will also be included. Finally, the smartwatch is rumored to cost between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 8,000.
