In addition to the announcement of 5G network rollout, Retail, O2C businesses, and more, Reliance Industries has scheduled its 45th Annual General Meeting for August 29th. During its 44th AGM last year, Reliance made a number of announcements regarding solar and new energy businesses, along with the launch of the JioPhone Next. Considering the spectrum mega auction recently concluded with Jio being the highest bidder, the 5G network is expected to take centre stage this year.
On August 29th, Reliance will hold its 45th annual general meeting, where the company is expected to introduce or at least announce 5G services. Even an affordable 5G phone is possible, but it’s a bit far-fetched.
The company spent Rs 88,078 crore to acquire 24.7 GHz of spectrum in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz, bands. By September-October, the 5G network will be available in tier-1 cities, according to telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
It was recently revealed in Reliance Industries’ annual report that the company is planning to roll out 5G in India. According to the article, Jio has completed its 5G plan for the top 1,000 cities in the country and has named 22 cities which will receive 5G networks in the first phase.
