Earlier this morning, Qualcomm announced its latest generation wearable chipset family, consisting of the Snapdragon W5 and W5+ SoCs.
The company has also announced the date of its next Snapdragon Summit. As always, this event will be held in Hawaii this year. In 2022, the Summit will take place over three days from November 15-17, rather than the usual December date.
This year, we will be treated to the first official glimpse of Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile chipset at the Snapdragon Summit. As well as that, more chips could be released in November, so it should be an exciting time.
In 2022, Qualcomm moved the Snapdragon Summit to November, but it might have to do with the Chinese smartphone market, which has a huge jump in sales for the Chinese New Year. As a result, many Chinese companies wish to release their new top-of-the-line devices prior to the festival – and an earlier announcement of the chip powering those devices would certainly speed up the process.
