The new MediaTek flagship chipset has just been unveiled. Dimensity 9000+ includes a few key upgrades over the 9000. There are also improvements to image signal processing and the 5G modem as well as a 5% CPU boost and a 10% graphics boost.
Dimensity 9000+’s Cortex-X2 high-performance processor is now clocked at 3.2GHz, up from 3.05GHz. There are still three Cortex-A710 cores and four high-efficiency Cortex-A510 cores in the same 1+3+4 configuration. The GPU is the upgraded Mali-G710 MC10.
MediaTek’s Imagiq 790 is capable of simultaneously capturing 18-bit HDR video from three cameras. Additionally, it can process still images up to 320MP and 9 gigapixels per second. In addition to the 4K HDR video, AI noise reduction is supported.
5G modems now reach downlink speeds of 7Gbps with 3CC carrier aggregation. There is also support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and MediaTek’s MiraVision 790, which supports WDHD+ displays with 144Hz refresh rates or 180Hz at FHD and WiFi displays up to 4K60 for HDR video.
As soon as this year’s Q3 we can expect the Dimensity 9000+ to hit smartphones.
