Google is back with some exciting launches later this year. After the launch of Google Pixel 6a, the company is gearing up for the flagship Pixel 7 series. Previously at Google I/O, the company confirmed that they are working on Pixel 7 & Pixel 7 Pro which will arrive with the latest Tensor SoC.
Now we have a new report claiming that Google is joining hands with Samsung again for the second generation of Tensor SoC. As per the report, Samsung will begin mass production of Google’s second-generation Tensor chipset built on 4nm right from this month.
Further, the new Google’s second-generation Tensor chipset will use PLP technology. Chips are cut from a wafer and placed on a rectangular panel using PLP packaging. Using discarded edges as little as possible will reduce cost and improve productivity.
Samsung has also got plans of producing the chips for other applications like Google’s own server chips. As the company has already supplied the DRAM and NAND flash to Google. Hope the upcoming Tensor chip doesn’t disappoint in terms of performance like what it did with the Pixel 6 series.
