Honor is the latest brand entering into the foldable segment after Xiaomi & Huawei. Recently we saw Huawei introducing Galaxy Z Flip competitor with Huawei P50 Pocket in China. Now finally Honor has announced its first traditional foldable phone with Honor Mate V in China. It comes in three colors with Space Silver, Black & Burnt Orange. The Honor Mate V will go on sale from Jan 18 in China.
Design:
The new Honor Mate V will surely remind you about the new Oppo Find N or original Galaxy Z Fold3 as it looks almost similar to them. The traditional foldable screen comes with thick hinge support on the back that doesn’t come with a crease look on the display after all. It weighs over 288g and measures 6.7mm thick when unfolded and folded at 14.3mm.
On the front, there is the secondary display with a punch-hole notch with slimmer bezels. On the back, the device comes with triple rear cameras which are aligned vertically with LED flash. There is a massive 7.9 inches foldable internal display with a punch-hole notch.

The new Honor Mate V sports 6.45 inches FHD+ OLED outer display with a 120Hz refresh rate & 21:9 aspect ratio. There is a massive 7.9 inches OLED internal display with a resolution of 2272 x 1984p & a 90Hz refresh rate. Honor says the device features the world’s slimmest hinge technology, a waterdrop hinge that is more advanced than other similar products on the market.
Honor Mate V is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage option. The device features triple rear cameras with LED flash. The new Honor Mate V comes with a 50MP main sensor with f/1.9 aperture, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2. Lastly, 50MP Spectrum Enhanced camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The device features a 42MP selfie camera on the internal display. The connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, A-GPS, GLONASS, GPS, Dual Band Wifi, USB Type-C Port, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, Linear Motor Vibrator.
The Honor Magic V comes with a 4600 mAh battery with 66W wired charging support. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner & comes with stereo speakers. It runs on Android 12 OS with Magic UI 6.0 on top.
