After the leaks about the premium flagship iQOO 9 series been doing round its time for the budget segment now. Yes, the Vivo sub-brand iQOO is now planning to launch two new entry-level 5G phones in China. The new iQOO U5 & iQOO U5x are about the launch later next year. Now ahead of the official launch we have got the specs of the iQOO U5 series.
As per the source, the new iQOO U5 was recently listed on TENAA which revealed the specs of the device. Sadly, the listing didn’t leak out the image of the device. The iQOO U5 will sport 6.5 inches FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080*2048p. As of now no word about the higher refresh rate support. It is likely to be using the new MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC which is clocked at 2.2GHz speed.
The iQOO U5 is coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options. The device features dual rear cameras with a 50MP main & 2MP depth sensor with LED flash. There is an 8MP selfie camera and will have fingerprint scanner support. The position and type of fingerprint scanner are still unknown.
It measures 8.25 mm thick and weighs 185g. The iQOO U5 comes with a 4900 mAh battery with 18W fast charge support. It runs on Android 11 OS with IQOO UI on top.
iQOO U5x:
The tipster has also revealed that there is a cheaper alternative for iQOO U5 with the new iQOO U5x. The new iQOO U5x will have two models one with 4G other with 5G support. The iQOO U5x 5G model will be powered by SD480+ SoC whereas the 4G one with MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. Both the iQOO U5 & iQOO U5x are tipped to launch later this month in China.
