Android 12 (Go Edition)

Google has been launching a separate OS for budget-oriented smartphones with Go Edition since 2017. Now the company has announced the new iteration with Android 12 (Go Edition). Previously we saw Google announcing the Android 12 & Android 12L for large screen devices. Now the company has officially revealed the features of the Android 12 (Go Edition).

With the new Android 12 (Go Edition) the company has now reduced app launching time considerably. Yes, now the app opens up quickly without any lag with the new Android 12 (Go Edition). As per Google, App launching time has been increased by 30% when compared with the previous generation. It has also become much smoother too.

Further, Google has also implemented SplahScreen API from Android 12 allowing the developers to make something attractive while the app is loading. One can even hibernate the apps which haven’t been used for a long time so that one can save battery & storage space.

Android 12 (Go Edition) comes with updated Files Go app that allows to recover the deleted stuff within 30 days. The new addition is one can hear to news & also translate on-screen content into your preferred language directly from the Recent App screen. This feature is still missing on Android 12 & is exclusive to Android 12 (Go Edition).

Android 12 (Go Edition) has also enabled Guest mode one can share the phone with anyone after that one can delete the profile. The Android 12 Privacy dashboard has also made its way to the lighter Android 12 (Go Edition). So one can see the app using location or mic or camera directly on the status bar.

The new Android 12 (Go Edition) will be made available to everyone right from 2022.
