It was disclosed in October that Motorola is working on two new phones, the Moto G Power (2022) and Moto G200. Tonga and Yukon are the respective codenames. While the G200’s primary specs have leaked, the G Power has not (2022). The G Power (2022) was detected today on the Geekbench benchmarking site, indicating a possible debut date.
The Moto G Power (2022) has a MediaTek MT6765H chip listed on Geekbench. The listing’s source code shows the SoC has a PowerVR Rogue GE8320 GPU. These data indicate the G Power (2022) is powered by the Helio G35 chipset.
The Geekbench report also displays 4 GB of RAM and Android 11. The phone achieved 165 and 1103 marks in the platform’s single-core and multi-core tests. The smartphone’s additional features are unknown.
The Moto G200 is expected to have a 144Hz FHD+ display, a Snapdragon 888 mobile platform, a 108-megapixel + 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera set, a 16-megapixel front camera, and Android 11. In China, it may be called the Motorola Edge S30.
Motorola is also developing the Edge 30 Ultra. This phone is expected to have a 6.67-inch OLED FHD+ 144Hz display, a Snapdragon 898 chip, 8/12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 128/256 GB UFS 3.1 storage, a 60-megapixel front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging. In December, it’ll be called the Moto Edge X in China.
Update:
Motorola released the Moto G Power (2021) in January, thus its successor, the Moto G Power 2022, is likely to follow soon. This phone’s official-looking renders and specs were released today. So let’s go.
As you can see, the camera array on the back has been moved to the upper left from the center of the 2021 model. The bottom bezel appears larger than its predecessor, which isn’t ideal in a market concerned with reducing bezels.
According to reports, the Moto G Power 2022 has a fingerprint sensor built into the styled M logo on the rear, IP52 dust and splash resistance, and a “new Qualcomm cheap SoC”. Earlier speculations said Motorola might use a MediaTek Helio G37 or G35 processor.
According to today’s leak, the phone will have 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and run Android 11. A 6.5-inch 720×1600 LCD with a 90 Hz refresh rate graces the front.
The rear camera is said to feature a 50 MP f/1.8 shooter with a 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor. No word about the third camera, so we’ll assume it’s a 2 MP macro. An 8 MP selfie camera and a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging should keep the lights on. The phone will also have NFC and a 3.5 mm port. 167.24 x 76.54 x 9.36 mm
