Xperia Pro-I

Sony has unveiled a brand-new Xperia Pro handset out of the blue. Phase-detect autofocus is available for the first time on an Android phone outside of Japan thanks to the Xperia Pro-I.

Camera:

While the RX100 VII’s 1.0-inch sensor is the same, it’s been “tuned for a smartphone” instead of Sony’s popular compact camera. That implies the Xperia Pro-I uses a significant portion of the sensor (but not all of it) to create 12MP photos with a pixel pitch of 2.4mm, which is around 20% larger than the pixels on the iPhone 13 Pro Max and about the same size as the pixels on the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s main camera after binning. The Xperia Pro-I still has a large sensor, but the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and its 2.8m binned pixels beat it out in terms of the sheer pixel area.

A Zeiss-coated, stabilized 24-mm lens with a variable aperture sits in front of the Exmor RS sensor, ranging from f/2.0 for the shallowest depth of field to f/4.0 for maximum clarity. There are two 12MP cameras on the Xperia Pro-I: an ultrawide-angle 16mm f/2.2 sensor and a 2x telephoto 50mm f/2.4 sensor. It’s a shame Sony didn’t include the 70-105mm periscope found on the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III in the Xperia Pro-I.

Camera Features:

Let’s go back to the primary camera. You can use it to take pictures and videos of people and animals using Sony’s professional-grade Real-time Eye focusing. Phase-detect autofocus points spread across 90% of the picture allow for quick subject tracking with the Xperia Pro-I. The Xperia Pro-video I’s and photo processing is handled by the Bionz X image signal processor, which can be found on the Xperia 1 III and 5 III.

Xperia Pro-I

The Xperia Pro-I from Sony comes with two physical camera controls. The shutter key has a textured surface and professional dampening, and it has a two-stage operation. Second, there’s a circular shortcut button that launches the Videography Pro software, which Sony has pre-programmed. White balance, exposure, and focus can all be adjusted at the touch of a button thanks to this app. When it comes to color modes and the ability to film in cinema 21:9, Cinematography Pro uses Sony’s VENICE cinema camera-inspired color modes.

For 5x slow motion, the Xperia Pro-I can shoot 4K video at up to 120 frames per second. Xperia Pro-I is targeted at vloggers with a special Vlog Monitor from Sony that attaches to the back of the Xperia Pro-I. It allows you to video yourself with the new one-inch type camera sensor.

Specs:

For the most part, the Xperia Pro-I is identical to the Xperia 1 III. With the exception of the 6.5-inch 4K OLED display and the Snapdragon 888 CPU with 12GB of RAM.

Xperia Pro-I

It packs a 4,500mAh battery and 512GB of storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. It comes with an Xperia Pro-I charging cord and a protective case. As well as a 30W charger in the box.

Pricing:

The Xperia Pro-I will go on sale in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Nordic countries in December. It’s damn expensive at €1,799 (Rs.1,56,700/-). For an extra €89.99. The Xperia Pro-I back cover to use with the Vlog Monitor, which costs €199 in total. On the other hand, it’s an improvement over the original Xperia Pro.
