In 2021, Nothing launched with the Nothing Ear 1 truly wireless earphones. They have a nice appearance and good sound quality for a reasonable price. However, considering Carl Pei’s background as co-founder of OnePlus, we may see a Nothing phone in the future.

According to a revelation from a well-known tipper named Mukul Sharma, these claims may now be true (via 91mobiles). Sharma claims Nothing is presently working on its first smartphone, which may be released as early as 2022.

Nothing Ear 1

So far, this is all we know about the first Nothing phone. Considering Nothing’s recent collaboration with Qualcomm, it’s fair to presume the Nothing Phone 1 (?) will use one of Qualcomm’s SOCs.

Notably, Nothing bought the firm behind the Essential Phone earlier in 2021, indicating that Nothing has been working on a smartphone. Essential’s expertise, patents, software, and hardware would definitely help Nothing build its first smartphone. But, hopefully, Nothing’s smartphone ventures will be as successful as Essential’s.

Nothing enlarging:

Aside from the possible first Nothing smartphone, Mukul Sharma mentions a power bank that may be released by the end of the year—the Nothing Power 1. Taking this into consideration, we can understand what the company’s creator, Carl Pey, has in mind.

Nothing is shaping out to be a producer of everything mobile, from peripherals to full-blown smartphones. Maybe we’ll hear about a Nothing tablet in 2022.

For now, we just know that these items are believed to be arriving. Using the Nothing Ear 1 as a benchmark, we may assume that the Nothing Phone 1 and the Nothing Power 1 will provide similar values.

Nonetheless, expect more leaks in the coming months if you’re interested in the company’s future.
