Move along, nothing to see. On the day of its introduction, Samsung took down all evidence of the Galaxy S21 FE, including its support websites. An announcement was canceled.
See the support pages for the Galaxy S21 FE SM-G990B. They’ve all been deleted now (but Google caches them). Delays seem to have rendered the S21 FE obsolete. Back-to-school promo leaked in August — an ideal time to debut, yet the school year started with no S21 FE insight. The newest plans allegedly schedule the Unpacked event for mid-October.
In the meanwhile, the phone’s destiny is in doubt, since it requires the same rare Snapdragon 888 as the Galaxy Z Flip3, a popular seller. But more significantly, the Flip sells far beyond what Samsung might charge for the Galaxy S21 FE given that the mainstream S21 devices are cheaper.
There was an Exynos variant, however, availability was limited. The Galaxy S22 series is coming soon – a December launch is unlikely, but there isn’t much time between mid-to-late October and January.
Samsung reportedly produced a limited batch of S21 FE devices (about 10,000), resolving a manufacturing problem that had slowed the process. It’s unclear what will happen to such units, although they may reappear in the future.
