Another cheap 5G Nokia phone is on the road — two, in fact, although only one has been revealed today. The Nokia G300 5G will utilize the same Snapdragon 480 as the G50, X10, and X20 (speaking of, the other upcoming phone we mentioned is the Nokia X100).

This isn’t a follow-up to HMD Global’s Nokia G30. It’s also not an improvement over the G20 in terms of cameras and battery. It features a more powerful chipset (an Helio G35 is hard to match) and 5G connectivity.

The Nokia G300 features a 6.57” 720 x 1600 LCD (20:9 aspect ratio). There’s nothing remarkable to note here, as the leaked documents didn’t indicate toughened glass. It’s approximately the same size as the G20 (6.52″) and smaller than the G50 (6.82″)

The cameras include a 16 MP primary camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP depth sensor, and an 8 MP front camera. The G50 and G20 both have a 48 MP main module (which also adds a 2 MP macro camera to the mix). The G300’s camera is between the G10 and G20, with 13+2+2 MP.

Then there’s the 4,470 mAh Li-Ion battery. Not terrible, however, the G20 and G50 both have 5,050 mAh batteries. No details about the support for the fast charging. The Nokia G300 5G comes with Android 11. (one of the few remaining clean versions, mind you). It has 64 GB internal storage and a microSD card slot for up to 1 TB.

Again, these are leaked specs that don’t include pricing. How much is a G300? The G20 debuted for €160, but it’s a 4G phone, so it’s inexpensive. The G50 will cost €270 shortly. The X10 included a 1080p+ display, a 48 MP primary camera, and 18W rapid charging. It also gets 3 years of OS upgrades instead of 2.

So the Nokia G300 should cost €160-270. Of course, that’s only a hunch; the actual scoop should come on October 6th (which will bring a Nokia tablet too).
