Finally, it’s there: Microsoft introduced Surface Pro 8. A bigger display and compatibility for Thunderbolt 4 and a new style are also included in the new tablet – and therefore an overdue, genuine improvement that has been anticipated for years.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 still outwardly conforms to the established idea that Microsoft tracks from the original surface: It is a 2-in-1 tablet with an erectable changeable folding rack, a very sensitive style, and a removable keyboard cover. With the latest model, Microsoft is updating many times that Surface enthusiasts have waited for.
Display with 120Hz refresh rate that allows Stylus support:
The display is arguably the most significant advance. Microsoft adopts the bigger 13″ Surface Pro X display in its Intel-based mass-market variant at first sight. The PixelSense screen is 11% bigger than before and is claimed to be more brilliant. However, frame rates up to 120 Hertz are enabled in particular now so that pen inputs are even more precise and lifelike, and the reproduction of moving contents should become even faster.
The screen resolution dubbed “PixelSense Flow” is specified by Microsoft as 2880 x 1920 pixels so that it is in 3:2 format again. Unfortunately, there is not yet a precise luminosity rating and just talks about a 12.5% lighter screen – in the manner of the nonsenses given by the rival Apple. The size of the Surface Pro 8 does not vary too much, despite the bigger display, thus the screen bezels are considerably less than previously.
The Surface Pro 8 only appears at first sight like its predecessor
New Zero Force Inking surface Slim Pen 2:
The new Surface Slim Pen 2 is also available on the Surface Pro 8, which must be bought separately. The same is true for the Surface Pro Keyboard Cover, the only one with an integrated place for the new pen. It is also the only keyboard Microsoft claims the new Surface Pro 8 may be used. The pen itself supports 4096 pressure levels and “should let the ink flow when the tip contacts the screen” with “zero force encryption,” according to Microsoft – before now mild pressure was always required.
With GPU-accelerated inking, Microsoft intends to provide nearly fully realistic experiences with the digital pen in conjunction with the new 120 Hertz mode on the display. This may be found on in-house tablets or other touchscreen devices in the Surface line.
Latest Intel Core processors:
The new, bigger screen essentially has the same hardware basis as Surface Pro 7+, which is exclusively offered to business customers. Thus Microsoft installs Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs, particularly the Intel Core i5-1135G7 and i7-1185G7 4-core versions, which work up to 25 watts of power loss and therefore up to 4.2 or 4.2 turbo clock speeds. Attain 4.8 gigahertz.
The Intel Core i3-1115G4 and the Intel Core i5-1145G7 are additional choices in the Corporate Customers edition. All processors save the i3 come with Intel’s latest Xe GPU and should thus be much superior to the Surface Pro 7. Depending on the model, the RAM is 8, 16, or 32 GB.
Two Thunderbolt 4 connectors and exchangeable SSDs
With SSDs, the authorized technicians with capacities of 128, 256, and 512GB or a terabyte have exchangeable versions, which are only available in wireless variants. Yes, Surface Pro 8 will also be available again at a “later” time with LTE connectivity. You will continue to seek for 5G in vain for the time being.
It also features WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support. Radio communication. Besides the current Surface Connect port, a lot has changed with the ports. Microsoft tosses away the full-size USB-A connector and in turn, switches completely to USB 4.0-cable USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 compatibility. In the future, you can’t only put in a standard USB stick, but you may connect many additional peripheral devices with very high bandwidth.
Better 4K support back camera:
The Surface Pro 8 front camera still supports facial recognition with Windows Hello. There is a 5 megapixels front camera that supports 1080p video recording. The back camera upgrades to a new 10-megapixel autofocus sensor and now supports 4K movies. The speakers have a little more power as well. They now have a total of two watts to output and are naturally still targeting the user.
Microsoft has not yet provided any particular battery capacity statistics on the Surface Pro 8. But the company revealed to operate for up to 16 hours. The battery should also be able to charge 80% of its capacity in a little over an hour with its 60-watt power source. The fact that the weight rose from a good 100 grams to 891 grams. This indicates a little bigger battery for the Surface Pro 8. But this may also be due to a bigger view and other technical improvements.
However, Surface Pro 8 is not larger than its predecessor: it is still somewhat shorter than its predecessor. The latest model is even around a half-millimeter thicker than the Surface Pro 7 and Pro 7+. It’s about nine millimeters deep, according to previous estimates. Surface Pro 8 runs on Windows 11 OS out of the box.
The Surface Pro 8 is available for end customers from 28 October and costs at least 1179 euros (Rs.1,02,500/-). Next year, business clients will get a version. The new Type Covers cost 179.99 euros. It will soon go on pre-orders.
