The Galaxy S22 lineup should arrive less than half a year from now if Samsung sticks to its January launch target. No doubt, rumours related to the upcoming flagship – and particularly its camera setup – have been circulating for a few months now, exploring various possible outcomes. However, a new report from Galaxy Club indicates that the Galaxy S22 Ultra might actually not be that much different from the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Supposedly, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be equipped with two telephoto lenses, each of which is capable of capturing 10 megapixels. The optical zoom on one of the telephoto cameras will be 10x, the zoom on the other might only be 3x. So, same as its predecessor.
Sources are confident that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have two 10MP telephoto sensors, along with 10x optical zoom like its predecessor. However, there are no details about how the periscope camera actually works or whether Samsung improved the system.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s zoom camera will be capable of continuous zoom, with the internal lenses having the ability to move from a 3x zoom to a 10x zoom. It is still unclear how this combination of cameras will work, but Samsung will likely reveal more about the Galaxy S22 Ultra in January.
Several rumours suggest that the Galaxy S22 and S22+ will come with improved triple cameras featuring a 50MP primary shooter, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
