Google finally announced its first smartphone for this year with the affordable 5G aka Pixel 5a 5G. Yes, Google cheapest 5G Pixel is here with Pixel 5a 5G that comes with upgraded internals and a larger battery. The Pixel 5a 5G will come in a single colour with Mostly Black, with forest green overtoned.
Design:
The new Google Pixel 5a 5G measures 153.9 x 74.0 x 8.2 mm and comes with a polycarbonate body. The device looks strikingly similar to the recently launched Pixel 4a but with Dual cameras on the back. It weighs over 168g in weight. The device will also get the Pixel 5’s IP67 rating this time.
Display & Processor:
The new Google Pixel 5a 5G will ship with larger 6.34 inches FHD+ (2340×1080 pixels) flexible OLED punch-hole display with standard 60Hz refresh rates. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top with HDR10 support. The Google Pixel 5a 5G comes with the same SD765G SoC as Pixel 5 but coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space. It also ships with the in-house security chip Titan M.
Cameras:
The Google Pixel 4a 5G features the same set of dual rear cameras as Pixel 5 with a 12.2MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture with Dual Pixel PDAF, 77-degrees FOV and 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 107-degrees FOV and LED flash with EIS support. There is an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor with f/2.0 aperture with 83-degrees FOV under the punch-hole. It comes with 4K video recording up to 60fps.
Battery & Connectivity:
It packs a larger 4680 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The connectivity option includes Wifi-6, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, NFC, Dual SIM with 4G LTE, 5G support, FM Radio and 3.5 mm audio jack. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and has dual stereo speakers with two microphones. It runs on Android 11 OS out of the box.
Pricing:
Google Pixel 5a 5G comes in just single colour with Black. Google Pixel 4a 5G will cost $449 (Rs.33,800/-) in the US & Japan. It will go on sale from Aug 26 only limited to US and Japan.
