Asus finally introduces the powerful gaming phone series with the new Asus ROG Phone 5s & Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro in Taiwan. The new Asus ROG Phone 5s comes in Phantom Black and Aurora White colours. The Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro comes in single Phantom Black colour. It will go on sale from Aug 24 in Taiwan and no word about the Indian launch.
Asus ROG Phone 5s & ROG Phone 5s Pro:
Asus upgrades the new Asus ROG Phone 5s, ROG Phone 5s Pro this year. The only change we noticed between the ROG Phone 5 series and ROG Phone 5s is in terms of processor. Apart from that, all other specs remain the same.
The difference is that the standard variant of ROG Phone 5 doesn’t feature rear Air Triggers. The ROG Phone 5s Pro does come with rear Air Triggers. Further, the Pro comes with 12GB RAM and 18GB RAM rest of all the specs remain the same.
The new ASUS ROG Phone 5s looks similar to the predecessor with a slight change in camera placement. ASUS ROG Phone 5s will look similar to the predecessor with the standard 18:9 aspect ratio display on the front with slimmer bezels. On the left, there is a USB Type-C port for attaching the various kind of accessories. On the right, we have got the power button with volume rockers. This time ASUS ROG Phone 5s also gets an RGB display on the back for notification that can be customised using an app.
The new ASUS ROG Phone 5s & 5s Pro will sport 6.78 inches 144Hz refresh rates Samsung AMOLED FHD+ display. The device features HDR10+, Always On HDR support and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on top. It measures 10.29 mm thick which is probably due to the larger battery size. It weighs 238g.
The new ASUS ROG Phone 5s comes with SD888+ SoC coupled with 12GB/16GB/18GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage. The ASUS ROG Phone 5s will ship with triple rear cameras with LED flash aligned horizontally. This time the ASUS ROG Phone 5s features a 64MP Sony IMX686 main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 13MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 5MP macro sensor with LED flash. The new ASUS ROG Phone 5 features a 24MP selfie shooter. It comes with 4K slo-mo and 8K video recording.
The new ASUS ROG Phone 5s comes with dual stereo speakers with dual NXP TFA9874 smart amplifiers DIRAC audio technology & Cross Talk cancellation tech. The device gets X mode to boost the performance further for heavy gaming. It also features dedicated Gaming profile customisation built into the ROG UI. It comes with side-mounted Air triggers 5 with Touch support for the perfect gaming experience.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE, VoLTE and 5G support, A-GPS, GLONASS, Dual Frequency GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio port, Wifi-6, Bluetooth 5.1 and in-display fingerprint scanner. The new ASUS ROG Phone 5s will pack a 6000 mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. It will also have support for 5G networks and runs on Android 11 out of the box.

The ASUS ROG Phone 5s with 16GB+256GB cost NT$ 29,990 (Rs.79,900/-) & 18GB+512GB at NT$ 33,990 (Rs.90,600/-). The ROG Phone 5s Pro with 18GB+512GB cost NT$ 37,990 (Rs.1,01,230/-).
