Samsung introduced the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ in January. According to some reports, the official unveiling of the S22 lineup could occur at the start of next year. A new leak revealed the model numbers for the S22 series smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series model numbers:

Sammobile claims that the S22 models’ tentative names are Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+. These models will most likely be referred to as SM-906x or SM-901x. The S21 series used model numbers such as SM-991x, SM-996x, and SM-998x. Since 2014’s Galaxy S5 launch, the South Korean company uses SM-G900x as its flagship phone model for its S-series. It is evident that the South Korean company decided to use S in the model numbers of the S22 models.

Last month it was reported that the Galaxy S22 might have a 6.06 inch or 6.1-inch display. The Galaxy S22 may also feature a 6.55-inch (or 6.66)-inch screen. While the Galaxy S22 Ultra might come with a 6.8 or 6.81-inch LCD, the Galaxy S22 Ultra could feature a 6.8 or 6.81-inch screen. S22+ and S22+ may have a plastic rear. This could indicate that the S22 Ultra will come with a glass back.

Samsung might bring back vapor chamber cooling to the S22 range. It is expected that the next S-series flagships will feature 65W fast charging support. Olympus branding might be available on the S22 Ultra, which may include a 200-megapixel Penta camera system. According to some reports, the triple camera setup of the S22 may include a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide snapper, and a 12MP zoom lens with 3x optical Zoom.

Samsung is said to be testing an Exynos processor with AMD GPU. The S22 series of Samsung smartphones could be the first to use the AMD-powered Exynos SoC. In terms of launch, the South Korean company could release the S22 line in January 2022.
